On the 19th November 2008 Mr. John Swinney MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth announced, as an aspect of encouraging economic growth, improved support for Business Improvement Districts in Scotland (BIDS) with an increase in the grant available to business groups and associations, working in partnership with their local authority, to develop proposals for Business Improvement Districts across Scotland.
The grant is a single payment and no further financial support would be provided by the Scottish Government.
It is expected that the grant will be available throughout this financial year.
Funding for the development of Business Improvement Districts is limited and whilst all applications will be considered, it is inevitable that some will not proceed to grant or may fail to meet the assessment criteria.
Please download both the 'enquiries letter ' and 'application form ', which give further details on the application process and requirements in respect of the grant.
