Funding

Funding for a BID comes from the mandatory levy and sometimes additional funding from the local authority.

The levy payments should be used to lever in additional funding from;

  1. the Scottish Government
  2. other statutory authorities
  3. trust and grant funding bodies
  4. European funding  

and used to develop revenue streams from the delivery of local services, asset management and other revenue generating opportunities.  

The aim of the BID Company should always be to generate additional funds that support the objectives of the BID and provide an additional return on investment for the local businesses.
