The BID sustainable financial model can be applied by any group of businesses working in partnership with their local authority. The Scottish Government's consultation on BIDs in 2003 concluded that BIDs should not be restricted to towns and city centres so as to allow for innovative schemes to be developed where possible, with a BID also being able to focus on a particular sector rather than a district, for example,
whilst enquiries to BIDS have also come from food producers, medical centres, golf clubs and whisky centres. The opportunites for businesses to work together and invest collectively across Scotland within a single sector BID financial model has yet to be piloted and Business Improvement Districts Scotland would welcome any enquiry in this respect. |
