WELCOME TO BIDS SCOTLAND

Business Improvement Districts Scotland is the national organisation for BIDs in Scotland, providing support, advice and encouragement to business groups, communities and local authorities considering and developing a business improvement district.

The BIDs model can be used whenever a group of businesses want to work collectively and invest together in improving their business environment or grow their market sector. You can find out more about how BIDS work by visiting BIDs Model at Work.

If you are thinking about setting up your own BID, please visit About BIDs to find out about the development process, what is involved and who to contact.

Visit Talking BIDs to hear David Urquhart and Malcolm Brown, the chairs of Elgin and Queensferry Ambition, talking about their towns and how a BID is helping them to improve their town centres for their businesses and the local community.

Videos About BIDs give examples of projects delivered by the Scottish BIDs as well as BID projects elsewhere in the world. The Enterprising Bathgate videos show how a BID is developed and some of the work that has been done.

We are always happy to talk about how a BID can help your businesses and local community. If you would like to discuss anything related to starting and developing a BID, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best Wishes,

Ian

Helping to build stronger communities in Scotland

Many of the business improvement districts now in operation are not only working with their local businesses, but also working with local groups, community councils and other local interest groups to bring about improvement through collective effort, reducing duplication and improving delivery at a local level, bringing about positive change.

Read the National Review of BIDs in Scotland to find out what a business improvement district can deliver for local businesses and the community, or learn about different types of partnership working.
