Business Improvement Districts Scotland

Business Improvement Districts Scotland (BIDS) is the trading name of Improvement Districts Scotland Limited (SC370019) which was incorporated in December 2009 and became operational in January 2010.


Established to support and encourage the development of Business Improvement Districts across Scotland, BIDS delivers the Scottish Government's BID programme and is the national organisation for BIDs in Scotland.


Business Improvement Districts Scotland encourages and brings together the BIDs from across Scotland, sharing knowledge and information whilst informing and developing BIDs policy across the country.

Improvement and Development Scotland Limited was incorporated on the 23rd November 2012 and was successful in achieving charitable registration and status (under the Charities and Trustee Investment [Scotland] Act 2005) on the 28th November 2012 (Charity Number SC043602)
