Small Business Saturday is to be held on Saturday 2nd December 2017.
Business Improvement Districts Scotland is working with the Scottish Government and the team from Small Business Saturday to promote the day across Scotland,
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities. The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses in a celebration of all types of business.
"In Scotland, there are just over 355,00 small business providing around 900,000 private sector jobs and they are a vital part of the Scottish economy. Small Business Saturday brings focus to small businesses encouraging people to buy locally - tying in with out Town Centre Action Plan and Town Centre First Principle. The campaign is a good example of partnership working across the public, private and community sectors - an approach essential in delivering support for our businesses to grow and regenerating our local economies." - John Swinney MSP, 2015
